Why does a payment ask which account it belongs to?

· 1 min

Spentio doesn't know which account a new card or bank app belongs to, so its first payment waits for one answer. Answer once and the next payments file themselves.

Where you see it

On Overview, a card shows how many payments are waiting. Review opens Transactions filtered to To review, with the waiting payments at the top under Waiting for your answer.

How to answer

  • Choose the account it belongs to. Leave Remember this card on and every later payment with that card files itself.
  • Not your payment, or not worth logging? Choose Ignore and how far it reaches.

When Spentio links a card itself

When your bank's notification names the account, Spentio links the card for you and lets you know. Change it any time in Settings › Cards and apps.

Questions

Can I change the account later?
Yes. In Settings › Cards and apps, choose another account for the card or app.
It asks whether to merge or log it as new.
The payment looks like an entry you already have, such as a planned bill. Merge updates that entry with the real date and amount; Log as new keeps both.
