How to track your Apple Pay spending automatically

Tap to pay with Apple Pay and the expense is already in Spentio. No typing, no bank login. Here's how to set it up on iPhone.

You pay with your phone several times a day. Coffee, groceries, the subway. Paying takes a second. Writing it down takes longer, so you usually don't.

Now Spentio does it for you. Tap to pay with Apple Pay® and the expense is already in Spentio, without typing a thing or opening the app.

Set it up once

  1. On an iPhone with iOS 27 or later, open Spentio, go to Settings › Cards and apps and tap Set up.
  2. Pick the card payments guide and add the shortcut.
  3. In Shortcuts, turn on Automation.
  4. Pay with your iPhone or Apple Watch. The first time, Spentio asks which account the card belongs to.

The full guide shows every tap.

What happens next

Every payment lands in Spentio with the amount and the store, and almost always with its category. If Spentio isn't sure about one, it asks.

Pay, and it's logged

What you pay for with your iPhone at the register now logs itself in Spentio. If you're new here, this is what Spentio does.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to connect my bank?
No. Spentio never asks for your online banking login. It logs each payment you tap with Apple Pay.
Which iPhones does it work on?
Any iPhone with iOS 27 or later. Everything it logs also shows up in Spentio on the web.
What about online purchases and my physical card?
Add them in a few seconds, or all at once by uploading your bank statement. Magic Import, our AI, reads it and skips what's already logged.
Do I get a notification every time I pay?
Only if you want one. By default, Spentio only sends a notification when it needs your answer. You can change that in Settings.
